Hello, and welcome to the Proud Terriers website! The Proud Terriers are the official LGBT fan group of Huddersfield Town AFC. Our mission is to create a culture of inclusion in football and foster the development of a more accepting atmosphere throughout the ground and community as a whole. As a group, we meet up at PPG Canalside training ground before home games; and encourage others to join, anyone is welcome! Additionally, we arrange regular trips away with our members to spend quality time with one another and strengthen the bonds of the group. We would also like to meet up with other LGBT fans at both home and away games; so please do not hesitate to get in touch (contact details can be found on this website). The Proud Terriers look positively to the future and aspires to assist in the fight to eradicate homophobia from football altogether. #footballforeverybody #beyourself
Our Founder Ryan has passionately followed Huddersfield Town AFC for as long as he can remember! Ryan’s love for the sport and the club developed over a decade ago attending games with his Dad. Today, Ryan is a season-card holder and regularly attends away games to see his favourite club in action. This love and passion for the Huddersfield Town AFC resulted in Ryan creating the Proud Terriers. Ryan being openly gay, wanted to establish a movement against homophobia and inspire a new generation of fans and football culture; in which homophobia doesn’t exist. Ryan was inspired by other LGBT football groups which ultimately gave rise to him founding a group of his own, in the Town and club he loves. The Proud Terriers!
